Gaiola Word Oceans Day 2019: discovering marine protected area
This is one of the most suggestive places in Naples: the Marine Protected Area « Parco Sommerso di Gaiola », established in 2002, is a wonderful natural oasis in the heart of the city. It takes its name from the two islets that rise in the bay of Posillipo, in the Gulf of Naples, where you can immerse yourself into a new world with great variety of habitats for marine organisms, but also geological and historical-archaeological assets. « Gaiola World Oceans Day 2019 » by Gaiola Marine Area on the occasion of World Oceans Day on Saturday June 8 to raise awareness of respect for the marine ecosystem and its defense. The volunteers of the marine park and the researchers will welcome families and children, who will participate together with educational workshops and games dedicated to the marine universe. One focus will be dedicated to plastic and pollution of the seas.
