MAV – Museo Archeologico Virtuale

The virtual archaeological museum (MAV) is situated near the excavations of Herculaneum. It is a place where reality encounters the imagination thanks to the use of state-of-the-art technology. Technology and artistic heritage combine to create a place for learning and entertainment through imaginative reconstructions, interfaces and holograms. Visitors can embark on a voyage of discovery back in time to before the famous eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD where multimedia installations bring to life renowned archaeological sites such as Pompeii, Herculaneum, Baiae, Stabiae and Capri.
