Napoli Sotterranea

The entrance for the tour of Underground Naples (Napoli Sotterranea) is situated in piazza San Gaetano in the historic centre of Naples. It consists of 3 itineraries that take the visitor on a voyage through time – 2400 years – on a trip lasting about two hours. The first itinerary includes a visit to several 40 metre-deep cisterns dug out of the tuff which were part of the Greco-Roman aqueduct. The second itinerary involves a visit to part of the Roman Theatre which was incorporated into several houses during the 15th century and a final itinerary which includes a visit to the highest section (summa cavea) of the Roman theatre.
