At the bottom of the garden, full of exotic plants, is the Museo delle Carrozze, a carriage museum housed in the former stables, with vintage Neapolitan, English and French examples dating back to the nineteenth-twentieth century. Established thanks to the Marquis Mario d’Alessandro, who gifted his collection, in addition to carriages, it also exhibits vintage accessories such as harnesses, trims, and other objects. This rich collection has been completed, over the years, with other donations that have helped to make the museum one of the most interesting of its kind in Europe. Villa Pignatelli is also home to the Casa della fotografia, a museum- archive for exhibitions, seminars and workshops.
