An itinerary in Naples, Campi Flegrei and Area Vesuviana to discover some of the most famous archaeological sites in the world.
In the shadow of Vesuvius the remains of buried civilization re-emerged from underground in all their stupendous beauty: Pompeii, an important commercial center in Campania felix, Herculaneum, a privileged place for holidays of wealthy Romans; Oplontis with the Villa of Poppea, Nero's second wife; Stabiae with Villa Arianna and Villa San Marco; Boscoreale with its Antiquarium that shows the main aspects of the Vesuvian area during the Roman age and how people made use of natural resources.
The Campi Flegrei have charmed Roman emperors and rich noble men, and now guard important testimonies of the past, impressive ruins, archaeological parks, underground cities. The visit to the National Archaeological Museum of Naples offers visitors one of the most extraordinary collections of antiquities in the world: the group of Farnese gems and sculptures, the treasures of Pompeii and Herculaneum, the famous Secret Room and more.
