The collection offers a wide overview of the artistic scene in Naples, and includes a vast range of applied arts (maiolica and porcelain, glass, ivory, weapons and armour, medals, busts and shepherd nativity figures dating back to the eighteenth and nineteenth century), as well as a library with manuscripts from the thirteenth to the nineteenth century. The picture collection ranges from the sixteenth to the eighteenth century, and includes a remarkable series of Neapolitan seventeenth- century paintings, including works by Jusepe de Ribera, Luca Giordano, Francesco Solimena and Mattia Preti.
