The ruins of the ancient Benedictine monastery of Holy Trinity whose foundations were discovered during excavations in the early years of this century. The monastery was founded in 944 to host the noble maidesn of Ravello who wished to consecrate themselves to God. The monastery was was demolished to “punish” the nuns who refused to leave it according the Decree of 1810 that removed most of the monasteries The richness of this monastery can be symbolized by one of the decorative pieces of art: the plate with the “Adorazione dei Magi”, saved by Francis Nevile Reid and now situated at the Antiquarium of Villa Rufolo.
